Cordon bleu is a traditional dish of French cuisine which consists of a chicken cutlet stuffed with ham and cheese, then breaded and fried.

At our place, the cordon bleu is prepared at home using fresh chicken, turkey ham, mozzarella and cheddar for a tasty and melting taste.

Ingredients :

  • Chicken or turkey escalopes
  • Turkey ham slices
  • Cheese
  • Flour
  • Eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper

Butcher's Advice

  1. Baking:

    • Place the cordon bleus on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Spray or lightly brush the cordon bleu with olive oil or butter to help them brown.
    • Bake for about 20 minutes at 190°, turning them halfway through cooking for even cooking.
    • Cooking in a pan:

      • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
      • Add enough cooking oil with a little butter to cover the bottom of the pan lightly.
      • Place the cordon bleus in the preheated pan.
      • Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, carefully turning with tongs.
